Queer Book Club
Join us in friendly, casual discussions of various pieces of LGBTQ+ literature spanning all genres and subjects. We meet online the last Saturday of every month!
WHAT WE'RE READING
Thirteen tales are unspun from the deeply familiar, and woven anew into a collection of fairy tales that wind back through time. Acclaimed Irish author Emma Donoghue reveals heroines young and old in unexpected alliances -- sometimes treacherous, sometimes erotic, but always courageous. Told with luminous voices that shimmer with sensuality and truth, these age-old characters shed their antiquated cloaks to travel a seductive new landscape, radiantly transformed.
Kissing the Witch
4 PM • VIRTUAL
Due to COVID-19 precautions, we will be holding all meetings virtually until further notice. If you would like to attend, please send an email to ELGbtq@gmail.com with the subject line "Book Club" and an invite link will be sent to you. No downloads required!
Tips for Obtaining Books:
If you do not wish to purchase the book of the month, first--check our local library! Gail Borden Public Library has many of the books we cover. If there are no copies available in stock, you can either:
2) Submit a material request form from Gail Borden! Make sure you mention that it's for a Book Club in the "Additional Information" field, so they get the materials asap! You can submit a material request form here.
3) Ask our members! Many members like to purchase physical copies of books we cover, or already own one, so reach out and see if anyone is willing to lend it to you.
If there's a book with LGBTQ+ subjects or themes that you're interested in, please recommend it to us! We are always looking for our next picks.
